A Chin village on upper Lay Myo river

A Chin village on the bank of Lay Myo river upstream of Mrauk U. This photo shows the place where people take shower and wash their clothes. Bamboo is one of their main forest products. Bamboo cut in these places are transported to the villages and towns.

People use bamboo in building homes, fences, huts and other structures. Other uses include making of baskets, furniture, cups, spoons, gifts and decoration items, and also chutes to transport water.
