Small boats on Ayeyarwaddy river

During the dry season at this area where Ayeyarwaddy river bends, sand banks are exposed on Sagaing side. People may grow ground nuts in the sands. Local passengers including the farmers transporting their goods use small boats many of which are fitted with engines, while there are few still using sails and hand paddles. On the Mandalay side land owners grow vegetable and fruits on the river banks.
