Bangkok by boats on the canals and Chao Pharaya river
Commuting in and around Bangkok by boat along its many khlongs or canals and Chao Pharaya river is a good means to beat the notorious traffic jams on the crowded roads. There are several canal routes criss crossing the city area. You can take the larger express boats up and down the Chao Pharaya river. Of course these do not take you everywhere. You should check the maps of Bangkok's sky train and underground train routes, and to get to some places it is necessary to take the bus or taxi anyway. (Shot in August 2012)
